Our Approach to Regenerative Agriculture
Is the term we use to refer to a holistic system of practices and principles we follow to manage our portfolio of land.
Regenerative agriculture integrates the principles of organic farming, agroecology and holistic management to counter the decline in biodiversity, rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide, loss of topsoil, water pollution and negative externalities to local communities caused by some conventional farming practices.
In practice, this means growing perennial crops in agroforestry systems, reducing external agrochemical inputs such as synthetic fertilizers, opting for cultural practices and on-farm-produced organic fertilizers, diversifying crops and crop varieties, integrating native trees and livestock with cropping systems, and conserving, enhancing or establishing natural habitats.
